Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 7 April 2016 my 'favourite' friend, Jo, sadly passed away from Pancreatic Cancer. Jo was 50 yrs young, married to the lovely Russ and a fabulous Mum to Kayla, Chelsea, Spike and Alfie and Mum in Law to Matt. She was also my best friend and scrabble buddy. We were all extremely fortunate in the care that Jo received, it gave us a very precious 26 more months with her in our lives. That meant a hell of a lot of scrabble games :-)
Throughout those months Jo was an inspiration and we were able to talk openly about our fears and we were extremely blessed to have shared so many more hugs, tears, laughter and love with her. Jo held our hands throughout and prepared us all for a life without her.
Pancreatic Cancer is in the top 9 of the "killer" cancers and once found, it is more often stage 4 and terminal. Life expectancy rates have not changed in the last 40 years and Cancer Research gives only 1% of its funds towards the research for early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
In honour of Jo there will be numerous other things going on...including Bank Holiday weekend at my place of work - Tescos, Goring Road.
Date to be confirmed for head shave....watch this space
