Story
As a family we decided that we wanted to support PKD awareness week in memory of Sandra/mum who sadly passed away earlier this year and is greatly missed. She had polycystic kidney disease. This is a hereditary condition which also affects Karen. We have each set our own personal challenges related to our individual fitness levels. We would be very grateful for any donations in support of our challenges, however small.
Chris' challenge is to walk 75 miles in September.
Karen's challenge is to walk 250000 steps (over 100 miles) in September.
Andrew's challenge is to run 100km in September.
Jonathan's challenge is to run 100 miles in September.
The PKD charity provides information and support to patients and families affected by polycystic kidney disease, funds research into discovering possible treatments and raises awareness of PKD, providing information to patients, the public, the medical community and the media. This September kicks off with PKD Awareness Week (4th - 11th September 2022). A week dedicated to educating and inspiring our friends, families and communities to learn about the condition that around 70,000 people in the UK live with. Kidney research is critically underfunded - in the UK, less than 1% of all health research funding goes to kidney research, and a fraction of that amount goes towards PKD research specifically. New treatments for PKD are needed now! Thank you for your support!
