Designed for comfort, luxury and location this five star self catering cottage on the Isle of Lewis carries a definite Wow factor! In a truly unique location amid the spectacular scenery of the Island of Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides, Beach Bay Self Catering Cottage is nestled on the edge of the unspoilt white sands of Uig Bay, a National Scenic Area. This is one of the most beautiful beaches on Scotland's Atlantic Coast. Some of the pictures above show you the views of the beach in front of the cottage. Also, see Uig in the spectacular video below put together to support the successful bid from the village of Mangurastadh in Uig to be the home of the St Kilda visitors centre (just a couple of miles from Beach Bay Cottage). The cottage is a stunning natural stone and turf roofed, single-storey detached cottage, built into the hillside reflecting an ancient Neolithic design. The cottage boasts truly breath taking beach views through its 180 degree bay window, which sits just 20 yards from the edge of the family friendly beach. You can directly access the beach less than 110 yards from the door. Sit and watch the tide come in and out revealing the white sands which are made from millions of tiny shell fragments ground down by the Atlantic over many years. The Red River or Abhainn Dearg in Gaelic, runs into the bay and has runs of both Salmon and Sea Trout which if you're lucky, you can see leap in the bay. In a very secluded and magical location, the surrounding area of the cottage is a paradise for families, artists, walkers, fishing enthusiasts, photographers and bird-watchers. It's not unusual to see a golden eagle soaring in the sky, sea otters swimming around the coast or a stag wandering the moorland.
