Story

Hi

I'm doing a sponsored 'Dine In The Dark' to raise money for the guide dogs and would love your help.

My 13 Yr old daughter is trying to raise £2500 along with her team from St Columba's high school. If they managed to raise this money they will be able to 'name a puppy', which they wish to name "Columba" after the school.

Nicole and her team raised over £2000 last year through various events including a fun run, bake sale and can collecting with the charity, as part of her YPI project at school. Unfortunately even after all their hard work and effort with the charity they were overlooked, with another deserving local charity winning the £3000 prize instead.

Through sheer determination their team have decided they want to  raise the £2500 they need themselves, although it's not going to be an easy task.

The girls have started some fundraising ideas in school but we need an extra boost, so I said I'd do this for them.

By doing a Dine In the dark I'll be experiencing one of the everyday struggles that someone with sight loss faces.

I done the fun run last year, blindfolded, and would like to take it too the next level.

Thank you for your help.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
