Story
Paul and I are embarking on a 'run of a lifetime' this summer, and raising money for charities close to us. My best friend Wendy found out she had pulmonary hypertension a couple of years ago and has been unbelievably brave in dealing with this disease since her diagnosis. She is now waiting for a lung transplant! I want to try and raise some money to aid research into this rare disease and help others in the same situation as Wendy.
Run Britannia (LEJOG) – a 37 day run covering 1,634 km and 70,000’ of elevation on some of the UK’s most famous long-distance trails and paths, including major sections on the South West Coast Path, Wye Valley Way, Offa’s Dyke, Clyde Walkway, the Great Glen Way and all 95 glorious miles of the West Highland Way. Starting in Lands End on 03 June and finishing in John O’Groats on 07 July 2023. This is a major physical and logistical undertaking, the entire distance is still fairly seldom attempted on foot in one sitting.
We will be blogging our adventures on my facebook page:

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is rare, serious and misunderstood. It has a huge impact on people’s lives, and the PHA UK is dedicated to reducing that burden through support, advice, information and advocacy. They raise awareness and fund research to provide better treatments, with the hope of one day finding a cure for this devastating disease. The PHA UK receives no government funding, so every penny donated plays a vital role in helping them support people to live better lives with PH.
