Story

My neighbour and myself have been knitting Poppies for the Royal British Legion.

Mrs D is 101 years old and celebrated her 100th year with a regal wave from her front doorway with her neighbours cheering from  a distance during an horrific Pandemic.  But Mrs D never complained,  as she explained,  she had lived through a war, in which she was part of the Land Army. She can't drive a car, but they taught her how to drive a tractor and was fed mainly on beetroot butties!

Mrs D has done the majority of the knitting. I have knitted about 6.... but she has produced about 40. If anybody who donates and would like a poppy, which can be fixed to a dog collar or pinned to a jacket, please let me know, I will get one to you.

I will be honest, with poor eyesight and arthritic fingers (that's just me), they are not perfect but have been made with love and hold a fabulous back story.

Thank you for reading.

Please donate.

Karen and Mrs D, 'aka Joan or Margaret' 😁
