Story
I’ve always wanted to run the marathon, every year I’ve watched and thought it would be amazing to be a part of something so awesome . I’m not a runner and had only done one park run a few years ago. I put my name in for the ballot and by some miracle got in first time.
I started training and suffered an IT band injury but did the physio and amazingly have been able to get back on track. Now that I’ve accepted that I really am going to run THE marathon it seems like the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of sepsis.
My dad had a minor surgery (gall bladder removal) but unfortunately the sepsis wasn’t spotted and treated in time and he died 3 days later, never having left the hospital. Please look up the symptoms and ask ‘Could it be sepsis?’

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis. It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? I’ve never heard of it!” In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths. It also funds our vital support work, helping people adjust to life after sepsis.
