Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Stephen Darby played professional football since the age of 17, but on the 12th September 2018, was forced to retire at the age of 29 after being given the diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND). “Darbs” being the rockstar he is, decided to find “a way of turning something so devastating into something positive”. He wanted to have a positive impact on MND and to help and support those individuals and families living through it. Darbs teamed up with Chris Rimmer, former British Military personnel, who was also diagnosed with MND and together they created the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.
Myself and Stephen Warnock decided that we wanted to do something to support our friend and to help raise awareness and money for MND. We decided to apply for a place in the London Marathon in April 2020, but unfortunately due to COVID-19 the marathon was postponed and so after a year of training we will finally be running the Virtual London Marathon on 4th October 2020.
We really appreciate your donations and support!
Many thanks,
Karen Carney and Stephen Warnock
