COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

I am taking time out to do some good in the world and do some charity work!!!

This programme is a 2 week placement in Uganda where students help serve a community in what can be a physically and emotionally demanding environment.

The teams main aim is to help the community make the most out of their resources, so that they can slowly work out of poverty.

As a team we will be staying with the community for the whole two weeks and our main priorities are to:

• improve the quality of life of rural and fishing communities

• bridge gaps in access and utilization of basic services,

• engage people in discovering and utilizing their potential, skills and existing resources in a sustainable manner

• build secure, productive and just communities.

The project includes working in a local school, painting classrooms, running sports programmes, teaching English to students, planting a vegetable garden, setting up a micro-finance scheme and much more!

I would just like to remind you that sponsoring me via this website is 100% secure :-) so there is no need to worry! I believe that by going on this trip I can make a difference no matter how small. I appreciate all donations- big or small! Your money will help me get that one step closer to going!
