Story
On the 2nd November 2014, I will be running in the TCS New York marathon. Having intended to run in 2012, and 2013, last minute serious injuries forced my withdrawal under medical orders. In addition hurricane Sandy forced the entire race to be cancelled in 2012.
3rd time lucky as we say in English! Thank you to all of you who have made donations to date - these are secure and I would like to now appeal to others to step forward and donate.
Being selected for the NYC marathon is a dream come true and I hope that you will be generous in helping me raise as much money as possible for charity. Primarily I will be running in memory of my brother - Kanwar Jandu who sadly passed away in 2009.
Why a heart charity? Well apart from heart related illness being the biggest single cause of death in the developed world, it literally took the lives of some people very close to me and I too have been a cardiac patient for 6 years now.
I am looking to raise at least 3000 pounds for these causes and would like to appeal to your kindness in helping me reach and even exceed this target.
Special thanks in advance:
Rózsakert medical center – I would like to say a huge thank you to Dr Eszter Bodnár – a cardiology expert and her colleagues at Rózsakert medical center for offering to look after my cardio needs on a complimentary basis. This will ensure that throughout my training, I will be in great shape and will run the race of my life. Looking after families for many years, they offer a discerning service for all medical needs. I encourage you to visit their website for further information
Budapest Airport Zrt – I work with a fantastic team of Aviation professionals at BUD and would like to thank them for their support and contributions in helping this fundraising action. Special thanks go to the CEO – Jost Lammers for allowing me to optimize the organisations brand reach, Rene Droese – Director Property and my training partner.
Last, but not least, I would especially like to thank my wife Barbara and daughters Jasmine and Ella for allowing me to concentrate on marathon training again in 2014 so I can finally get the NYCM monkey off my back for what will be my fourth marathon. It would not be possible without you!
