Story
Carolynne, Charlie, Sophie, Shannon and Lewis are doing the London 2016 10k santa dash to raise money for Kallies Operation we are also going to get kallie involved and will be bringing her along in her sleigh 🎅. Please everyone donate anything you can to help this little girl achieve her dream to walk.
Kallie is a beautiful amazing 6 year old little girl. She has congenital heart disease and cerebral palsy. One of her dreams is to be just like her peers and walk and play as any able bodied child does.
At 6 days old we found out that Kallie had been born with congenital heart disease. She was admitted to Royal Brompton and started on diuretics to ease the strain on her heart. She was scanned 12 hours later and amazingly they found they would not need to operate, from that day to this Kallie has been a fighter. At the age of 1 we faced the next blow Kallie was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and our world was yet again turned upside down. We had only just come to terms with her heart condition. Kallie has spastic diaplegic cerebral palsy, this affects mainly her legs and she is unable to walk unaided and can only do this aided for short periods of time. Kallie is in mainstream school and we try to give her as normal life as possible.
Doctors at Great Ormond street hospital have said that they believe Kallie would benefit from life changing surgery. The surgery is called a selective dorsal rhizotomy, the idea of this is to improve Kallies muscle stiffness and this will benefit her life greatly. Unfortunately this operation comes at a cost as it is a self funded operation and we only have a short period of time to raise the money.
As a Parent we all want our kids to be happy, healthy, and live the best lives we can possibly give them! We are hoping through the generosity of family, friends and strangers that we are able to give Kallie this once in a lifetime chance and that she can have a better quality of life.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and reading about Kallies Hope.
