Story
This year, I will be playing in First Tee of the Triangle's annual Kid-Am Tournament. Similar to a Pro-Am but unlike a traditional golf tournament, this event will partner each foursome with one of First Tee's participants. Not only does golf play a role in my participation, so does volunteering and fundraising. I have been asked to fundraise to cover the cost of my playing and any extra money raised will go directly towards the First Tee's mission of providing character education to local youth through the game of golf.
One of my favorite things to do with the First Tee is to volunteer because it makes me feel like I am important or that I matter. I love to play in the Kid-Am because it’s a chance for donors to spend time with participants and see how much the program means to us. I think they are always surprised at how good we are at playing golf too! I also love being a Junior Coach. I realize that the younger kids look up to me like I used to look up to my First Tee coaches. It feels good to give back to something that gave to me.
Please help support my efforts in fundraising for the First Tee of the Triangle! I am asking supporters for $1 per hole as I play next week at the Country Club at Wakefield Plantation.
Thank you for your support not only in this tournament but for all of your support throughout my golf journey!
