Kaelan Joyce is raising money for Pseudomyxoma Survivor

Pseudomyxoma Survivor aims to raise awareness of PMP and appendix cancers, to provide emotional and practical support and information to survivors and their families on our website and online community. We are also dedicated to raising funds for research into this extremely rare disease.

Story

My name is Kaelan, a father of 3, who will be taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon this October in an attempt to raise awareness and funds for an important cause.

In November 2024 my life was turned upside down when a series of events triggered by a random 'Well Man' check culminated with the diagnosis of a Low-grade Appendiceal Mucinous Neoplasm (LAMN), the main cause of Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) a rare cancer that usually originates from the Appendix.

I had no symptoms and consider myself one of the lucky ones as my tumour was caught at a very early stage, especially after reading the heart-breaking stories of those who haven't been as lucky.....

Notably, PMP funding is extremely limited as it is considered rare and there have been no advancements in treatments or care during the past decade, which is concerning as it is difficult to detect and manage.

My objective is to raise awareness on the subject and to ultimately raise as much money as possible!

Pseudomyxoma Survivor is a non-profit organization, run by patients and caregivers. We have a thriving support community supporting anyone whose life has been touched by PMP as well as appendix cancer and other peritoneal surface malignancies. We’re completely dependent on voluntary donations.

Thank you in advance for supporting my huge challenge and donating whatever you can, it will make a massive difference
