I am riding 37 miles from Luton to London to raise funds for the Middle Eastern Children's Alliance during the Big Ride for Palestine. Any of you that know me will know exercise is not my forte, and riding 37 miles will absolutely kill me off, but I am pushing myself to do it for the children of Gaza who experience real pain and real suffering on a daily basis.

As a lot of you may know, in Summer of 2014 there was a war in Gaza where over 2000 people were killed including over 500 children including babies and toddlers. Entire families in many cases were wiped out. The war is still going on, and it is going on in the form on malnutrition, homelessness, lack of water, lack of sanitation, electricity, fuel and all other basic necessities that we take for granted. 98% of children in Gaza are traumatised/ have psychological issues, and this coupled with the physical deprivations they experience is not acceptable. The Big Ride - Palestine aims to raise money for MECA (Middle Eastern Children's Alliance) and the money raised during this event will go directly to Gaza in the form of medical supplies to hospitals, emergence aid to families, support of community-based organisations that run creative writing programs, sports teams, art and music classes, also to build playgrounds and much more. 


This is not about politics, this is about humanity.
All children deserve to live in safety, and be healthy and happy. A child the age of 6 in Gaza has already experienced 3 wars. This is not OK and we need to help them in their time of crisis.
