Fundraising for The Early Birth Association
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On sunday 22nd February, im taking part in the Brighton half marathon. I have never done anything like this before and it will be a real challenge both on the day and also trying to train whilst looking after a very lively 2 year old!
I'm
doing this for the Early Birth Association which raises money for the
Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU) in The Royal Sussex County Hospital,
Brighton. My twins, Isabella and Maddalena were born very prematurely at just 23 weeks. Sadly Isabella went to sleep in my arms after a brave 3 week fight. Maddalena defied all the odds and came home after 19 weeks at the TMBU. At only 13.5 ozs, she is one of the smallest survivng premature babies to have graduated from TMBU.The staff there were amazing not only in helping our baby survive but also in supporting Renato and I during this difficult time. Maddalena is now doing amazingly well and I want to help other babies and families that face this heartbreaking and stressful time.
So please dig deep as monies raised can help buy a range of equipment vital for running the TMBU (from incubators to tiny premature sized clothing). To read more about the Early Birth Association and how it helps the Trevor Mann please visit their website at http://www.earlybirth.co.uk/about.htm.
