Story
Lewy Body Dementia is a common type of Dementia, estimated to currently affect over 100,000 in the U.K. However, it still has a tendency to be misdiagnosed for other types of dementia, such as Alzheimer's.
Whilst it is rare in people under the age of 65, it has sadly affected my immediate family following my dad's diagnosis on 2nd Sept 2016, the day before his 61st birthday.
There is presently no cure; I want to help raise awareness of this terrible disease and support the work involved in finding a cure :)
I've taken part in several running and endurance events, mainly 10k with a couple of half marathons also, along with Tough Mudder and The Prime Four Beast Race at Dores, Inverness over two years. My friend Debbie joined me to do the Highland Fling Bungee also in the Summer of 2017, raising £1,586 herself for the charity!
We also circulated a wee quiz sheet raising £254 and held a hugely successful Pudding and Prosecco night, raising £1,874, which was truly amazing also so thankyou all 💜
This justgiving page is being topped off and ended on a high with the London Marathon on 28th April 2019, an opportunity I never ever thought I would have and an event I never believed I would ever undertake!
Thanks for supporting me and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
