Story
Jyotsna Guha, beloved mother, mother-in-law and dear friend, peacefully passed away on Monday 14 March 2022.
We know it would mean a lot to her to raise money for hungry children and adults all over the world, so we felt that supporting the Akshaya Patra Foundation would be fitting.
They run a number of schemes including:
- Supporting the Indian government with the Mid-Day Meal Programme, which guarantees children with a hot, well-balanced meal at school at lunch time. "A guaranteed free meal every day enables them to abstain from working and instead encourages them to study and get educated. In this way, the programme also helps in the universalization of primary education." - Akshaya Patra Foundation
- Nourish to Flourish scheme in the UK, where they have served over 50,000 hot lunches to children at holiday clubs, council-run holiday centres and community hubs across London boroughs
- Beat Hunger scheme in the UK, where they provide over 3000 fresh, hot meals to adults at various London locations from Monday to Saturday all throughout the year
- More recently, they have been supporting the people of Ukraine during these terrible times of war, ensuring as many people as possible have food to eat

Any contribution, however small, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
With love from Raymond and Vrinda Guha
