Story
I am taking part in the 27 miles in 27 days challenge during March for Mind as part of the Lancaster University Hockey Club. This is to raise money for the 27% of students who report a mental health problem at uni. This challenge involves running 27 miles over 27 days, which as many of you who know me will understand is going to be quite the challenge as I really hate running. I ask you to be generous and help raise money for such a worthy cause.
The number of students reporting a mental health problem is five times greater today than it was ten years ago, while the number of students dropping out because of mental health problems has trebled. By taking part in this challenge we as a club want to send the message that it’s time our mental health as students is taken seriously and we won’t give up until everyone with a mental health problem gets support and respect. Mind provides a national voice and local support for anybody experiencing a mental health problem.
