I have worked for and visited many of the countries where Water Aid is now making such a difference and seen the sort of hardship some people face. Since the earliest of those times the World population has more than doubled, demand for irrigation and other water supplies has increased phenomenally at the same time as climate change has reduced the availability disproportionally in those areas of delicate water balance between rainfall and evaporation  making access to clean water even more difficult. The need for help has never been greater.
