Story
Most of you know that this is Katie, our amazing, kind, clever and beautiful 10-yr-old daughter.
As if her Daddy and I could be any more proud of her, she has decided, completely of her own accord, to donate her gorgeous, golden locks, that she has been growing for years, to an organisation that makes wigs for children with cancer and other diseases.
After a discussion about kids who are fighting so many battles that we can't possibly imagine, she got quite upset and wondered what she could do to help them. She's not a doctor, she's not wealthy, but she does have something to give that might make a little girl or boy feel a bit better about themselves while they fight to get well again: her hair.
It costs about £350 to process donated hair into a wig, so she is going to try to raise this sum in advance of the big day.
Of course, despite her wonderful intentions, she can't do this alone, so we ask - no, we implore - you to give whatever you can afford to her Just Giving page to sponsor and support her in this endeavour. We'll keep you updated along the way with pics and video of the haircut.
We are so proud of our girl, who always thinks of others before herself. Go Katie!
