Hi everyone,

Well I made it!! I cannot start to describe was a great feeling of achievement the ride left me with (as well as a very sore butt!!). The support from everyone on the trip was fantastic and I made some great new friends......HOWEVER, unfortunately the cycle ride wasn't just about self satisfaction, it was ALL about raising money for the homeless children who live on the rubbish tips in the Philippines so that we can build them a school to give them some kind of chance for a future.

My donations to date have been tremendous but unfortunately when compared to the effort that myself and my friends endured on the ride, it's JUST NOT ENOUGH yet!! I have to keep trying to raise more money and if I can raise over £4,000, I will be so much happier.

So why did I do it?  Well I might have a disability but I can still enjoy life to the full including the benefits of my family.  The Openwork Foundation Cares 4 Kids programme supports disadvantaged children who don't have the options many children take for granted and I believe they need that chance.  As well as supporting many local charities including The Teenage Cancer Trust (particularly close to my own heart), it is also in partnership with The Association of Children's Hospices, Winston's Wish and in 2008 they are building a school for totally deprived kids in the Philippines.
