To cut a long story short, a few years ago my Dad was away on a golfing trip when he was taken ill. Instead of being on holiday for a week he was hospitalised for a month. Whist he was in hospital, he was diagnosed with COPD (an umbrella term for a number of conditions including chronic bronchitis and emphysema) It is a progressive, irreversible lung disease which kills around 30,000 people a year in the UK - more than breast, bowel or prostate cancer.

For that reason I am taking time in my life to raise money for a charity, which with your support could help find better ways of making people like my dad’s life easier on a day to day basis. Not only would it give the sufferers themselves support but also a hope of growing old enough to see their children grow up and have lives on their own.
