Story
The Wave Project is an award winning charity that offers free surfing experiences to people with a variety of mental or physical challenges in order to enhance confidence and self-esteem. The power of physical exercise, the experience with the ocean and the social side of surfing can all positively impact a person’s life in many ways. I am currently posting this from Nepal while here shooting a short independent film on conservation efforts in the western part of the country but the second part of my trip here includes documenting a charity hike from Lukla to Everest Base Camp (65 km) and back in mid April.
In coordination with The Wave Project's team and the Nepali Trekking Company, I am documenting the 10-person team hike for future promotional and fundraising efforts. It is my intention to create footage that can help both companies do more of what they love in years to come by interviewing the participants as we make our way up to 17,000 ft altitude.
Knowing I have your support will help me keep filming and walking as we reach areas where breathing becomes much more constrained and each step takes a great deal of effort.
My aim is to complete the fundraising cycle by April 10! I have already received one donation of 250 GBP but have not included it here. Thank you for your time.
