Story
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict is still very relevant today and is affecting the lives of many even though it is not broadcasted by the media as often anymore.
We are trying to raise some money to ease some of the hardships faced by many Ukrainian women and children by sending two suitcases to Ukraine full of warm blankets, jumpers, scarves, gloves, hats, and other warm clothing items knitted by people in our community. These items are made for the widows and orphans of the ongoing Ukrainian conflict who are struggling financially to meet their basic needs such as keeping warm during the harsh months of the cold Ukrainian weather. The cost to buy and send each suitcase is £60 in total.
The funds raised will also help cover visa application and travel costs for Slava, the aid project leader who is trying to come to the UK to help with fundraising for the widows. Slava is serving the widows in the Lutsk region of Ukraine where she has set up a foundation to help support these women. After her second visa application, having been denied the first time, the total cost of her trip so far is £160.
The total amount we are hoping to raise is £300, covering the cost of the two suitcases and the cost of the travel and visa application for Slava.
We thank you for any donation you are able to give as it will make a huge difference in someone’s life!!!
