On 31st August, 2008, a team of dedicated Jupiterites are competing against teams from across the county to raise money for Nottinghamshire Royal Society for the Blind at their Dragon Boat Charity Challenge on the River Trent.
Dragon Boat Racing is an ancient Chinese tradition with over 2000 years of history where brightly coloured narrow rowing boats race against each other. Our team of 16 Jupiterites led by Captain
Matthew "The Machine" Hird and encouraged on by

The NRSB’s work strives to enhance the quality of life and independence of vision impaired people in Nottinghamshire. There are over 6,000 vision impaired people in the county, many of whom will need some level of support to achieve independence at some stage in their lives.
