VISTA in memory of June McNeelance who passed away on the 10th
January 2021.
VISTA is one of the oldest and largest local charities in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. They have been working with people with sight loss and their families for over 160 years.
June had been heavily involved in VISTA since 1995, when on
retiring as deputy head at St. Paul’s School in Leicester, she spent two years visiting schools throughout Leicestershire, giving assemblies and supporting fundraising activities and fetes. She raised £30,000 for a minibus for young blind and partially sighted people to use with the organisation VISTA.
June then began recording the ‘talking newspaper’ which enabled
blind and partially sighted people to keep in touch with their local community. She continued to do this until it was closed down due to Covid restrictions.
Early on, she also won the competition which changed VISTA’s
previously very long name, to the current one, VISTA!!
So, rather than pay for flowers for her graveside, we are
sure she would approve of us setting up this Just Giving page in her memory, so that anyone who wished to donate to a charity could donate to this one which she was actively involved in for over 25 years.
If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid Box as this will increase your donation by 25% at no cost to you.
Please leave your name when you donate so we can thank you
in person.
Many thanks from June's Family.
