Sky dive!  Amazing, nervous, excited and scared, but we did it!  I think we all went through so many emotions in such a short space of time.  From the moment we were briefed to landing back on solid ground it was such an emotional roller coaster.   I will try to explain!

We boarded the plane and took off, watching the ground disappear and climbing through the clouds to 15 000 feet;

"Half the height of Everest," someone commented.  Here we go, the door is opened, which is just so hard to get your head round!  I  know we are doing a sky dive but your brain has just been programmed to think of the danger! The first few are out!  Now it's Aidy's turn, then Keith, now me.  I am being shuffled to that opening fastened to a stranger (Lee) who says, " take your feet off the floor. "   So you are dangling with your head hanging out of the aircraft and your body and legs through his, well, easier said than done!   My brain was telling my legs to do it,  my right leg was listening, however my left was having none of it and after what seemed like an age, I managed it (watching on the dvd it was about 2 seconds).  Then Jeronimo, we were out!   We are the right way up or should I say down, so good start:  Hands on harness, arch the back, smile at the camera; I am trying to remember all we were advised!  A tap on the shoulder means arms out now.  Wow what a fantastic feeling, plummeting through the sky, through the clouds travelling at 120 mph dropping 2 miles in 60 seconds.  The noise is incredible, yet it is absolutely exhilarating, you are descending so rapidly but feel like you are hardly moving.   Loved it until the shoot is pulled when bang, the breaks are hit, my stomach ends up in my mouth!  All of a sudden it is so peaceful, my Instructor  tells me I can lift my goggles. We are now gently twirling our way to the ' X'  marks the spot on the ground, which would have been great if my stomach hadn't still been in my neck. The next few minutes, finishing the last mile seemed a life time as I am trying everything I know to stop myself from being sick! Talking to Lee, taking deep breathes and looking for miles around at the magnificent views, anything to take my mind of it! I feel so queasy but make it, we are above the cross, I am told to pick my feet up so that Lee's feet touch down first, then I can put mine down, well that's the plan!  If only -  it's no problem for Lee, however, no feeling in my legs, so bump, I just hit the floor and land on my knees!  But hey, I've done it, I am back on solid ground and it's all over, completed!   There are 'high fives' all round as all the team land safe and sound, what an incredible experience, as I said, amazing, nervous, excited and scared, we felt the fear and did it anyway! 

If you have never tried it, I have to recommend it.  It's brilliant!!!
