Thank you for visiting my page... as some of you know (and some of you reading this may not) on 9th September 2016 my lovely stepdad Vic had just finished his game of bowls and was walking back to the car with my mum when he fell to the floor in agony with pain in his chest. An ambulance was soon there and he was rushed to Leeds LGI hospital where we soon discovered he had had a heart attack and needed surgery as soon as possible. The next day he had a double heart bypass and was in intensive care for the next few days and then moved to a normal ward for a week after and when he felt strong enough he went home back to York where eventually he made a full recovery and is back playing bowls and making us all laugh daily again (even tho sometimes we are laughing at him and not with him heehee!!)

So this year I decided it was my year to get fit and healthy, after going through something so frightening it makes you realise life is to short and things can change so quickly and you just don't know what is around the corner!  My aim is to lose 4 s year and I wanted to do something as my final achievement and incentive and came across Trekfest 25K so a friend and I have signed up and here we are..... on the 1st September we will be doing a 25K trek around the Peak District.... gulp!!! The most I walk now is around my village with my beautiful boxer dog Buster...

I want to raise money for the cardiac intensive care unit at LGI because they were truely amazing, to not only Vic and keeping him as comfortable and safe as possible but were amazing to me, my mum and Vics son Lee. As you can imagine seeing someone in there isn't nice and it was a shock to us all but the staff, consultants and everyone else in there were just fantastic and kept us all positive that Vic would be OK. They were real life angels and I just want to do my bit to say thank you.

I

Thank you for reading and please please donate 😍 I'm off to buy some walking boots and waterproofs....
