Story
Dear friends and family,
This year, I am running for a cause very close to my heart. I have committed to running the iconic London Landmarks Half Marathon as a proud member of Team Blood Cancer UK. But this is more than just a race; it's a personal journey to honour the memory of my beloved grandfather, Carlos, who we sadly lost in 2022 to Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a relentless form of blood cancer.
Grandfather Carlos was not just a family pillar; he was a symbol of resilience and hope. His battle with MDS highlighted the urgent need for continued research, support, and awareness for blood cancer, a cause I am now deeply passionate about. This race is my tribute to him, a way to keep his fighting spirit alive, and a call to action for all of us to contribute to this vital cause.
The fundraising goal is £350, and I need your help to cross this finish line. Your generous donation will directly go to Blood Cancer UK in their mission to fund lifesaving research, provide invaluable support to patients and their families, and ultimately, to beat blood cancer once and for all.
No amount is too small. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and encouragement. Let's make every mile count!
Blood Cancer UK is a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. They do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, they have invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, its community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
