In March 2022 my mum died suddenly..
She had severe atherosclerosis, which led to a blood clot stopping her heart.
One min she was alive the next gone, no warning, no chance of survival, no chance to change lifestyle habits, no goodbyes….. just gone…
😢
She was also diagnosed with COPD around 15 years ago, but never had the proper tests, dyes in the lungs, bloods, etc, she was just given inhalers and treated for COPD and asthma.
Mum didn’t know she had heart disease, but all the signs were there.
I truly believe that if she had known she had heart disease she she would have helped herself more, with better lifestyle choices, a healthier diet, healthier habits etc.. A disease like that doesn’t just kill you overnight, it takes years of build up that could have been treated and managed if only she had known.
I want to raise awareness to such diseases, and help fund lifesaving treatment for many people.
Heart disease has taken so many people I know in the last few years it’s scary and heartbreaking for so many of us.
Do you know the signs of heart disease, would you know what to do if someone collapsed with suspected cardiac arrest, do you know how to administer CPR??
All these can be vital in saving a life.
The British Heart Foundation has some amazing information on their website regarding this.
Please check it out.
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
