Story
This year I have decided to raise money for guide dogs again. As some of you know my wife and I have been puppy raisers since 2017. The experience is extremely rewarding and has changed our lives. So far we've had 2 of our pups qualify as guide dogs: Eryn works on Skye and Jack works beside Edinburgh, while we still have Kris at home for a few more days before she leaves for training in Forfar.
You know I like my running and cycling and I love a challenge. This year I have decided to set myself a double challenge: run my first ever marathon (Loch Ness marathon, 2 October 2022) and cycle 100 miles for the second time in my life (Ride the North, 27 August 2022). I have started to train for these events by participating in various races (Glenlivet 10k, Garioch half marathon) and sportives (66 miles Etape Loch Ness, 55 miles Stonehaven Mid Summer Beer Happening).
Please sponsor me to support millions of people who rely on guide dogs to live their lives independently to the full. Thank you for your help.
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
