We're thrilled to have a wonderful team of runners taking part in the TCS London Marathon 2022 to help raise vital funds to protect play in hospitals and offer fun and distraction for seriously ill children and their families when they need it most

Story

I have watched the London marathon for years on the TV, ever since being a child. I have always wanted to take part but have never been given the opportunity until now. This year Starlight have chosen me to raise money for their fantastic cause by running the marathon and I am beyond proud to do this for them.

Starlight is the national children’s charity that exists to champion the importance of play and defend every seriously ill child’s right to it. We do this through our hospital play and distraction services, and our programme of Starlight events and experiences. We support children, families and health professionals to make moments of escape for those who need it most.

I have already started to train after getting the email to say I had been chosen. This is a huge challenge for me, but one I am very glad to have the opportunity to take on. I appreciate any support that can be offered, and thank you in advance for your help in achieving my goal.
