Julie's story:

I would say I'm doing this charity bike ride to raise money for cancer in memory of my dear old mum but I'm not.  By saying that would imply that my mum was old - she wasn't - she was 61 when she was officially told she had with lung cancer and died 7 months later.  61 - that's no age, that's not even retirement age.  She wasn't a little old lady - she played with her grand kids and took them on outings and was silly.  I'm therefore doing this bike ride to raise money for cancer research so hopefully no one else loses their mum at a young age, and grand kids can see their nans grow old.  

One of my very best friend's Charlotte Butcher suggested we do this ride and she's every bit as determined as I am to complete this ride.   We may not be the youngest/fittest or most able cyclist but we will ride 60 miles, We will get up the green monster (google it) and hopefully raise lots of money to help find a cure for this cruel, cruel disease.
