We fund lifesaving research to to tackle heart and circulatory diseases

Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.

Each of the Shave Ladies team have close family members who have had major heart issues in recent years.

My mum had major heart surgery a couple of years ago and luckily made a complete and successful recovery. The care and support she received from BHF along with the expertise of the cardiac team in Southampton was absolutely brilliant and we owe them everything.

Some of my dearest friends have also suffered from strokes, heart attacks and heart problems and have undoubtedly benefitted from the latest advances in heart research, technologies and medications.  The advances in cardiac health have been huge but there is still much to do and we are determined to try and help BHF in our small way.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.

I would be most grateful if you could sponsor our efforts once again. We absolutely loved the walk last year (although it was the hardest physical thing i have ever done!!!!) but doing it for a worthwhile cause made all the training and the walk itself really purposeful, we knew we were going to make a real difference.

I have set a huge target again for this year,  for the BHF, so please share this page and my story and I absolutlely promise that the Shaves Ladies team will do everything we can to make you proud of us!!!

Thank You!!!

Julie xx
