Story
Hello and welcome to my just giving page!
OH MY GOD I GOT IN THE LONDON MARATHON!
I am so excited but also a little scared at the same time. Running the marathon is a lifelong dream of mine which is why this means so much to me. I cannot wait to run over the finish line. I am dreaming about it even now! It was the best feeling ever when I got the telephone call so running over the line will be amazing.
I have never been a good runner as I do not run at all so this is where the challenge begins. I have set myself a target of £5000 pounds and I am going to lose at least 3 stone in weight!
I have chosen the arthritis research care charity as my mum suffers with arthritis. My mum has suffered for many years and when the illness is at its worst it can have massive effects on her body and stop her from doing day to day simple tasks. At present my mum is off her feet again with her arthritis. It is a challenging time for both my mum and the family. It is heart breaking to see her in the pain that she is in but supporting her and being strong is all you can do. My mum is very inspiring when it comes to me training for the marathon as it really pushes you on to know you are helping others who also suffer like my mum does. I have other family members that suffer from arthritis and are not pain free and suffer every day. It is the work that the arthritis charity does that enable new medicine to be formed which is very important when people like my mum had suffered for years.
