Story
Where do I start everyone ....
Here’s where todays statement from Severn Hospice
The announcement of the devastating news that it has been proposed that Severn Hospice funding to be cut by £250,000 in Telford!!!!!!!!!
This very disappointing news. News that means they are having to reduce capacity at Telford hospice, which is the equivalent of removing two beds. This will mean Telford site is reduced to 7 beds
The impact that will have on local families is heartbreaking
Last year 2740 people were referred to the hospice for care 217 here in Telford
So I ask have you been one of the thousands who have had a loved one there or been & visited & seen how absolutely incredible level of care they provide to us locally ?
£250,000 seems a lot but if we all help a little we can do this!
Break it down
We have approx 175,000 residents so if we all pledged £1.50 - imagine the difference that would make
£1.50....... the cost of a coffee
Please support however you can the Hospice need us
Share the link via social media / friends / family / work colleagues
People here in Telford have huge hearts let’s share the love & support our hospice
Best wishes

Why do I support Severn Hospice ?
Here’s my story if you fancy a read
I started fundraising for Severn Hospice as we as a family received devastating news that my Dad was not to win his brave battle with the dreaded ‘C’ in 2016
Scared & having that sick feeling after calls, tears & upset Dad was moved to the first available bed at Severn Hospice - Shrewsbury
From the minute we arrived it was like walking into a safe haven. Beautifully decorated , fresh flowers in every room, amazing staff & an overwhelming feeling of calm & serenity
We overlooked the stunning gardens, watched squirrels outside the room, ducks wander around the grounds .... Peaceful & daft as it sounds .... Lovely I didn't think I'd ever describe a hospice as - lovely
Heartbroken but concentrated on Dad every minute, the staff - every member were just amazing . The Hospice cared for us as a family . Mom had recently had a TIA and a couple of times had a hand massage & neck massage off the Therapist..... Nothing was too much trouble
From arriving on the Monday every minute Dad was at the hospice he was treated with care & dignity. No cold drips, no unnecessary bleeps.... Meds via a driver, allowed to rest & sadly on the Friday he opened his wings & flew high in the sky with the butterflies. Free from pain, after a beautiful 5 days with the staff preparing him for this journey
I confess as pink & sparkly as I am, behind this pink smile, nearly 3 years on this girly is still devastated . Miss my pops every minute of every day
I had specialist Bereavement Counselling at the hospice at Telford. My counsellor was my lifeline & I would never ever be able to put a value on her support she is one of life's living angels
The news today of the cut of £250,000 is so upsetting. I feel that anyone that wants it should have the chance of hospice care for their loved ones here in Telford
