Story

In 2008 I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (a diagnosis that was later changed to Crohns Disease). I was so lucky to be referred to St Thomas’ Hospital and placed under the expert care of the incredible Gastroenterology Department.  Over the past 13 years I’ve tried my best to not let it hold me back but I’ve suffered some pretty debilitating flare ups and sadly been hospitalised many times (last year was the hardest with over 8 weeks spent on the Gastro ward 😢).  St Thomas’ have always looked after me so brilliantly. They are an amazing, inspiring team of individuals - the consultants, doctors, radiographers, nurses, phlebotomists, dieticians , cleaners , porters , cooks and so many others all do a fantastic job, often under seriously challenging circumstances. I was blown away by the care I received and cannot thank them enough for supporting me through some very scary times and making me so much better 😄 - well enough to even run a half marathon! I will be forever grateful and I’d like to raise as much as I can to help them continue doing the life changing work they do.

Money raised will go directly to Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Gastro-Intestinal Unit (G00751)
