Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Aged 11 years old I was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, a rare and progressive form of chronic liver disease. Throughout my liver journey CLDF have been there to offer support, guidance and smiles along the way! I enjoyed a holiday with them this time last year where I had the opportunity to connect and make friends with other young people who also had liver disease. This experience was invaluable in helping me realise that I was not alone and that other young people out there understood how I felt. For this I will always be forever grateful to CLDF.
Small charities such as CLDF are really struggling to survive during the pandemic. Fundraising events have been hit hard. CLDF relies solely on fundraising and the generosity of others to deliver its vital support, services and on-going research in to liver disease.
So to help in a small way, I have set myself a musical challenge! As I am currently shielding and unable to leave home, I will be challenging myself to learn 26 new pieces of music on my clarinet in 26 days - a piece a day! My family will be counting and listening!
Prior to lockdown and coping with the ups and downs of my illness, I had lost my enthusiasm for playing my clarinet. One positive outcome of this enforced time at home is that I have now found the love of playing my clarinet once again.
