Story
We have chosen to take part in The Brain Tumour Research Virtual Walk of Hope as Matt was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2018. He had surgery to remove the tumour in September 2018. The tumour was 6x6cm and the surgery has left him partially sighted and suffering life threatening seizures, along with a lot of other ailments as a result of having brain surgery such as problems with his memory, chronic fatigue and weakness and pain on his left side.
We decided to take part in the Walk of Hope as since his diagnosis, we have seen the life changing effects that having a brain tumour and surgery has on people's lives. We have learnt a lot about brain tumours and we were also shocked by the devastating statistics and the lack of funding which goes towards brain tumour research, as you can read in the information below. We would like to do something to help, especially in these difficult times when charities are suffering, to try and raise some funds towards a very important cause to us.
We have chosen a 10 mile route from Marston Vale Forest Centre to Cranfield and back again on 26th September 2020 at 11am. We have chosen a target to raise £274 each, as suggested by the charity.
