As most of my family and friends know, 2012 was a very challenging year for me. In total I spent 22 weeks in hospital  with vasculitus, a disease with no cure!  It affected my lungs, kidneys and heart.  I'm lucky to be here and feel very honoured to have wonderful family and friends to support me and Derek through this challenging time.

I wanted to compete in the 25 mile Selby Bile ride this year, but unfortunately my heart will not allow me achieve this challenge. I've decided that the race for life (walk for life in my case) is achievable and with your support I'm determined to get to the finish line.

Im raising funds for Cancer UK and Vasculitis UK which is a charity that is raising awareness of this disease.
