Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Julie, and I am a survivor of herpes simplex encephalitis (HSE).
It is currently almost 5 months since I was diagnosed, but it has taken me until now to honestly reflect upon what happened during that time.
As I am currently navigating a tough recovery process, involving
multiple severe panic attacks, anxiety, uncontrollable fatigue,
feelings of physical and mental detachment, I was looking for help and
discovered HSV survivors's stories thanks to the Encephalitis Society.
It is helping me to mentally cope with the recovery process and to
better navigate my life after encephalitis. I am extremely lucky to be here today; to be supported and loved. I feel that it is my duty to raise
awareness around Encephalitis and as a lucky survivor, I want to do
everything I can to support anyone and their families; navigating life
after it.
To do so, I will walk 10KM during the LONDON WINTER WALK 2024 to raise funds for the Encephalitis Society. Your donation will make an incredible difference and help me support the
Encephalitis Society to provide support and opportunities to connect
with individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by encephalitis.
It funds, collaborates, and promotes research into all aspects of this
condition. It also raises awareness of encephalitis among the public, medical and health professionals.
It is my absolute belief that with every downfall, there must be an uplift.
Thank you for your time, your support and your generosity.
Love, peace and health,
Julie
