Story
For those of you that know me, you will be aware that I was part of a team that ran the New Forest Half Marathon last September to raise money for the MNDA. It was one of hardest things I have ever done and I was very sick after the race had finished - I vowed that I would NEVER do anything that stupid again...... Not even a year later, I am back and this time I am running the London Marathon! Am I crazy....YES! However, it is for a cause which is incredibly important to me - the MNDA.
My mum was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in October 2020 following the loss of movement in her left arm. It was devastating news for my mum and our family. Unfortunately, this disease has now moved onto my mum's right arm, which has meant she is slowly losing her independence. However, my mum is an incredibly strong woman and she embraces each day with fierce determination. It is this determination that has motivated me to run the London Marathon for her and all those suffering with this disease.
The MNDA have been such a support to my mum and our family since her diagnosis. They provide advice and resources to help mum manage more easily on a daily basis, as well just being on the end of the phone to answer any questions or concerns we may have as a family. In addition to this, they have a medical team who are working tirelessly to try and find a cure for this cruel disease.
If you are able to donate anything to this very special charity, I would be very grateful. My target is £3000 but I need to hit £1000 by 31st October so please do start donating now. A HUGE thank you in advance.
All my love
Julie
