Story
Shortly after our wee boy Euan was born he became very unwell and was subsequently looked after by the staff in the Special Care Baby Unit at the Southern General in Glasgow. After days of tests he was found to have Group B Strep, a nasty infection that can affect babies after birth. It was a really scary time for us, our family and friends. He soon picked up and after 2 weeks was fit and healthy enough to come home with us. We feel so lucky that he recovered so well, and he is such a happy content wee boy. The care Euan received, and the support we had from the staff was amazing, and they really put us at ease. We feel so strongly about this, and wanted to do something to show our appreciation. So....we are running the Chris Hoy Edinburgh Half Marathon on the 18th April, and our great friends Clare & Nadia, are joining us. However, with all of us having done a bit of running before we thought it would need to be a bit more of a challenge, and a bit more fun, so we are running in fancy dress..........Bananaman & the 3 bananas!
The Yorkhill Childrens Foundation provide a huge amount of support for equipment and services for sick children in Glasgow. They have very kindly agreed to be our charity, and with their help, all of the money we raise will go directly to the Special Care Baby Unit that Euan was in. We would be really grateful for any support you can give us. We promise to add in photos of us in costume as soon as we have them! Thank you x
