Story

Ben Pickering, our son, was 12 years old when he passed away in 2009 with Late Infantile Batten Disease. He never reached the age of 13.

As this year's Batten Disease awareness week is all about 13 in recognition of the 13 different types of Batten Disease, I have decided to put on my valued BDFA orange T shirt to walk again with family and friends a couple of 13km walks on 9th and 12th June to help the BDFA acheive its 13k target in Batten Awareness week 2021

Please donate  on my Justgiving page to ensure we help the BDFA to  continue to provide support, advocacy and information to children and young people with Batten disease and supports their whole family. I know how valuable it was to us as a family when Ben was with us and it continues to be even now.

In anticipation of your donation so others do not suffer like Ben did, THANKYOU x
