Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I aim to make a difference in 2011 by raising money for crohn's and colitis UK . This would have meant so much to my late mum Janet Barron who bravely fought with her crohn's for over 43 years.
She was such a brave lady who never complained no matter how much pain she was in and always cared about other people even though she was so ill herself. She was an inspiration to all that knew her.
Janet past away on Saturday 7th August 2010 at the age of 65 years. She was a patient at Leeds Royal Infirmary and one of the longest patients to have had an hickman line fitted.
Throughout mine and my sister's lives our mum was in and out of hospital when the crohn's became active and in more recent years she struggled with her heart and kidney's due to the side affects of the medication or problems with the hickman line.
I have never run a Full marathon, 26.2 miles always seemed too far and daunting, I've done 2 half marathon's. Funny enough my mum and family were supporting me through my training last year when I took a friend's place in the London Virgin Marathon.
After all that training and then just when we were due to fly back on the 18th April from Miami our flight was cancelled, can you believe due to the eruption of the volcano in Iceland- I thought it was a wind up at first.
I even ran past Richard Branson on the Broadwalk in Miami whilst training just before we were due to fly home.
Anyhow on the plus side I'm not going on holday in April 2011/May2011 so I will do my best to complete this awesome run the 'Shakespeare Marathon' with my Mum in mind my inspiration.
