We fund specialist equipment to improve the lives of disabled children

Story

As many of you know I work at Greenhall nursery and have done for many years.
I have decided to run the Stafford half marathon in aid of Newlife who help our children and offer support and equipment that should be readily available for our children and families.

http://www.newlifecharity.co.uk/

Greenhall Nursery is a specialist school that accepts children aged 2 to 5 with physical disabilities and aims to give children the best start in life.
Every child regardless of their illness and disability deserves the best and thats what makes Greenhall different from other nurseries.
We have children in the nursery that have gone through so much in their lives already
Through the years I have seen many children come to Greenhall and have been a part of the team that gives each child and their family the hope and support that is needed.
Newlife have played a part in this providing support and equipment for families that would otherwise struggle to obtain necessary equipment for their child's health and safety.
Any of our parents can contact Newlife either for advice or to discuss equipment that is needed or our team at Greenhall can do this on parents behalf.

One parent was Amanda Harrison-her son James attends Greenhall Nursery and has a rare condition that sees James in a wheelchair
James is at an age now where his mum /dad struggles to lift him -Through a coffee morning with Newlife held at Greenhall Amanda submitted an application to fund a stair climber to enable her to get James upstairs.
This has been processed by Newlife and enables James to be moved safely within his home both upstairs and downstairs and does not restrict him to only one room in the house.
For a parent there is nothing you want more than the best for your child ,and for your child to be safe -Newlife have helped when others wouldn't.
Please support me .

Mum of James- Amanda's story.

This is why Newlife is so important.

We were really struggling to lift James as he got bigger especially up and down the stairs. To be honest it was dangerous. I met a lady from the newlife foundation at a greenhall coffee morning who gave us some hope. I then rang a nurse at newlife to explain our problem. We chatted for a long time, she was so helpful and agreed to get James a stairclimber. The process was easy and quick. I can't tell how it felt to finally have someone to listen to us and help us.
they also provided us with a ppod seat as James had outgrown his old chair.
Having the new equipment has made a huge impact on our family life. We are no longer struggling to lift a heavy boy and James is comfortable, safe and happy. I really can't thank them enough.
