Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Stuart Andrew Lawtie died last year of colo-rectal cancer, he was 27 years old. The condition was first diagnosed early in 2008 and he fought it every step of the way.
Stuart dealt with the disease as he dealt with life - with openess, courage, dignity and humour. Everyone who came into contact with him throughout this period regarded him as an exceptional and inspirational young man. He was supported during his illness by an equally exceptional family, girlfriend and set of friends.
Stuart, Steven and myself are taking on this challenge in memory of Stuart but also in the hope that other young people will benefit in the future. There are many young people suffering from uncommon cancers for their age and every annual conference made possible through funding by the Stuart Andrew Lawtie Memeorial Fund will help raise awareness, provide more appropriate care and treatment and perhaps make things easier for those who are suffering.
Stuart lived, worked and had most of his treatment in Edinburgh so it seems very fitting that we come here to raise money for a very special man and an equally special cause.
It's going to be hard work so thank you very much for your support - we'll need all we can get !!
Cheers,
Julie, Stuart and Steven McIntyre
