Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
In September 2018 myself and my boyfriend Rich will be running the Great North Run for Brain Tumour Research in Memory of my Dad who lost his battle with CNS lymphoma (type of brain tumour) on Valentines day 2017. As i watched him suffer, without complaining, i was struck by how awful this illness is and how helpless i felt in so many ways. We want to do the Great North Run to honour my dads extraordinary bravery in the face of the cruelest illness and to support vital research into the causes and treatment of Brain Tumours.
We have never ran a half marathon before, but very excited for the challenge, so this year our training has stepped up a gear with lots of early morning training sessions and runs at the weekend. While the training is tough it is such a fantastic opportunity to raise money for a great cause and we will be inspired by the incredible courage and dignity shown by my dad right to the end.
We also want to raise awareness on this cruel and awful disease, to raise money, to support the researchers to get earlier diagnosis and to prevent another person or family go through what my dad and my family went through.

CNS lymphomas represent just under 5% of brain/spinal cord tumours.
So please dig deep and donate, please remember to add gift aid, as it does make a huge difference
