Those who know me know I love to swim! Someone who enables me to do this is Dave. He is more than a husband and soul mate he is my hero.

5 years ago he underwent heart bypass surgery which was very successful, so much so he now not only carries my bags he also kayaks alongside me and several others in swim events.  

On Sunday 8th July he was doing just that when a group of swam along the Wirral coastline. It was only once we had left the river that we were told that his kayak had capsized and he was clinging on to it. The call was made to New Brighton Lifeboat Station via 999 and the lifeboat was dispatched.

He was brought to shore complete with kayak by the wonderful crew at the station. These guys give their time for free and put themselves at risk for others so now it's my turn to try and say thank you by helping to get money to help them keep us safe.

I swim everywhere and in August each weekend I will be taking part in a swim event starting with the Dee Mile in Chester, the following weekend I will be crossing the great River Mersey. My third swim takes me to Shrewsbury for the River Severn Mile swim and finally I will be jetting to Denmark to swim around Copenhagen.
