Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you know, this is my 4th GNR in memory of my mam Edna, who had leukaemia.
Why the Great North Run? Well, when mam was poorly, I really couldn't do much, I felt useless. A year or so after mam died, I was watching the GNR live on TV and thought 'I'm going to do that for Leukaemia research' - when I told my Granda I was doing it I thought he was going to have a coronary with laughing too much - he even bet me I couldn't, cheeky sod. I was never the sporty one in the family ;)
So 2009 saw me and my friend Hannah do our very first one; so far I have raised over £1700 for charity. I'd love it if I could raise £300 to get the total to £2000 over the 4 runs.
This year I have had shin splints, a stress fracure, plantar faciitis and an achillies injury (I only got the go ahead to do the run yesterday - 13 days before the run lol). So even if I have to crawl it, I will do it. And remember, I'm built for comfort, not for speed :-)
I really appreciate ANY donation; if you can't afford to donate then I accept good wishes too!
